Drywall alone will not hold a television
Most failed wall hangings fail the same way: the fastener only ever gripped drywall. Drywall is a layer of gypsum between two sheets of paper, and it crumbles under a steady pull. A screw driven straight into it holds a light frame for a while, then loosens as the wall works with the seasons, and a heavy mirror or a flat panel television can simply tear free. The wall looks fine until the day it does not.
The fix starts with knowing what is behind the surface. Studs carry the real load, so a stud finder and a small test hole tell us where the framing runs and how far apart it sits. Where a shelf or mirror lands between studs, a rated anchor made for that weight and that wall is chosen instead of a plastic plug from a drawer. The goal is for the fastener to be stronger than the object it holds.
Level, centered and spaced to your measurements
Viking's description of this work is professional installation of your wall-mounted televisions, mirrors, pictures and shelves to your specifications, and the specifications are yours. You say how high the screen should sit relative to the couch, or where the mirror should line up with the console beneath it. Chris Sias marks the wall with painter's tape or a paper template first, so you can stand back and judge it before any hole is drilled.
A television mount goes onto studs with lag bolts, gets checked with a level before the weight goes on, and then the set is lifted onto the bracket. The cable route gets planned at the same time, because power and HDMI cords dangling down the wall are the part everyone notices. A gallery row of pictures is laid out on the floor first so the gaps between frames stay even, and floating shelves are leveled to the line of the room, not only to the bubble.
Homes in Murfreesboro and Smyrna vary a lot in wall construction, from older plaster and lath to newer drywall over metal or wood studs, so the method changes with the house. Knowing what the wall is made of before the first hole is drilled keeps the mount honest and the patching to a minimum. Why it matters once the drill is put away
A television, a heavy mirror or a loaded shelf is a lot of weight sitting over a couch, a crib or a walkway. Hanging it correctly is a safety job as much as a looks job. When the hardware is matched to the wall and the object, you can lean a shoulder against the frame while dusting and the whole thing stays exactly where it was set.
Afterward, a little care goes a long way. Check a shelf now and then for any lean, keep loads inside the rating printed on the hardware and keep cords from tugging at a mount. If you rearrange, move the frames before you move the nails, since old holes in the wrong spot can weaken the wall. When the room changes or a new piece needs a home, add it to the next list anywhere in Rutherford, Williamson or Wilson County.
